The total volume of the population’s aggregate income reached 896.3 trillion soums
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — According to preliminary data, the total volume of the population’s aggregate income in January-December 2024 amounted to 896.3 trillion soums. The growth rate of the aggregate income, compared to the same period in 2023, in real terms, was 8.1%. This was reported by the Statistics Agency.
The aggregate income per capita in the Republic of Uzbekistan for 2024 was 24.1 million soums, which is 16.1% higher than the same period in 2023 (real growth – 5.9%).
For January-December 2024, the per capita nominal aggregate income in Tashkent city was 60,594.4 thousand soums, in Navoi region – 38,112.3 thousand soums, in Bukhara region – 27,508.0 thousand soums, and in Tashkent region – 25,123.3 thousand soums, all above the national average.
For January-December 2024, the lowest per capita nominal aggregate income was recorded in Namangan region – 16,849.0 thousand soums, the Republic of Karakalpakstan – 16,858.0 thousand soums, and Surkhandarya region – 17,880.0 thousand soums.
The real growth rate of aggregate income per capita for January-December 2024 was 105.9%, compared to 102.8% for the same period in 2023.
The highest real growth rates of per capita aggregate income were recorded in Tashkent city (15.4%), Navoi region (7.9%), and Tashkent region (6.4%).
The real growth rates of per capita aggregate income were below the national average in Samarkand (5.3%), Andijan (4.8%), Khorezm (4.7%), Syrdarya (3.7%), Kashkadarya (3.2%), and Bukhara (2.4%) regions, as well as in the Republic of Karakalpakstan (2.4%), Jizzakh (2.0%), Fergana (1.1%), Khorezm (0.5%) and Surkhandarya (0.2%) regions.
The substantial increase in the total volume of the population’s aggregate income is mainly attributed to significant changes in self-employment income, which accounts for 35.0%, income from hired workers – 27.9%, and transfer income – 26.0%.
In regional aggregate income, the share of income from labor activity (income from hired workers and self-employment) above the national average was observed in Navoi region (77.9%), Jizzakh region (74.8%), Tashkent region (72.6%), Syrdarya region (68.6%), Bukhara region (67.3%), as well as in the Republic of Karakalpakstan (64.7%), Kashkadarya (64.2%), Surkhandarya (63.8%), and Khorezm (63.5%) regions.
Income from labor activity (income from hired workers and self-employment) plays a significant role in the structure of the population’s aggregate income.
According to preliminary data, the share of income from labor activity in the structure of the total income of the population for January-December 2024 was 62.9%.
Nominal income growth rates compared to the same period in 2023 reached 117.2%, contributing to an 11.0% increase in the nominal volume of aggregate income.
The growth rate of hired workers’ income in the reporting period reached 119.0%, which ensured an increase of 5.3% in nominal income.
The highest nominal growth rates of hired workers’ income were observed in Tashkent city (126.8%), Samarkand region (119.2%), and Jizzakh region (117.4%).
Income growth during the period reached 115.9%, resulting in a 5.7% increase in nominal income.
In January-December 2024, the share of self-employment income in the total income of the population was 35.0%.
The highest share of income from self-employment in the regions was observed in Jizzakh (52.4%), Bukhara (47.4%), Kashkadarya (44.8%), and Surkhandarya (44.8%) regions. On the contrary, in Tashkent city, it was below the national average.
For every 1% increase in self-employment income, the total volume of aggregate income increases by 0.35%.
The highest share of self-employment income in regional aggregate income was recorded in Tashkent (10.7%), Samarkand (10.2%), Kashkadarya (9.5%), and Andijan (9.4%) regions. The regions with the lowest share were Syrdarya (2.3%), the Republic of Karakalpakstan (4.0%), and Jizzakh (4.9%) regions.
According to preliminary data, in January-December 2024, the total income from property of the population amounted to 30.1 trillion soums. During this period, the share of income from property in the total aggregate income was 3.3%. The impact of property income on the change in the total volume of aggregate income is negligible, around 1.2%.

Income from transfers, consisting of social and other current transfers, plays a significant role in the structure of population income.
Nominal growth rates of income from transfers, according to preliminary data for January-December 2024, compared to the same period in 2023, were 113.7%. The share of transfers in the total volume of the population’s aggregate income during this period was 26.0%.
According to preliminary data for January-December 2024, 36.6% of transfer income came from social transfers, and 63.4% from other current transfers.
The share of pensions in the total volume of social transfers for January-December 2024 was 80.5%, allowances – 17.8%, and scholarships – 1.7%.
For January-December 2024, the share of remittances received from outside the country in the total aggregate income of the population (including other current transfers) was 16.5%.
According to preliminary data for January-December 2024, the share of income from small entrepreneurship in the total volume of the population’s aggregate income was 58.7%.
This share varies across regions: the highest share was recorded in Jizzakh region – 67.5%. The lowest share of income from small entrepreneurship was registered in Tashkent city – 49.8%, Navoi region – 53.7%, and the Republic of Karakalpakstan – 54.5%.
