Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The Third Belarus–Uzbekistan Women’s Business Forum will take place in the city of Vitebsk on 28–29 August under the theme “Belarus – Uzbekistan: Joint Cooperation as a Factor of Sustainable Development,” according to the press service of the CIS Interparliamentary Assembly.

The event is aimed at further expanding business contacts between women entrepreneurs of the two countries and fostering mutually beneficial partnerships.

Preparations for the upcoming forum were discussed during a working group meeting chaired by Sergei Aleinik, Chairperson of the Standing Commission of the Council of the Republic of Belarus on International Affairs and National Security, and Alisher Agzamkhodjaev, Chairperson of the Committee of the Senate of the Republic of Uzbekistan on International Relations, Foreign Economic Relations, Foreign Investments and Tourism.

Both sides reaffirmed their strong interest in holding the forum at a high level and expressed confidence in its practical outcomes.

The first two forums, held in Minsk and Tashkent respectively, yielded significant economic results: the first forum resulted in contracts worth $29 million, while the second led to agreements totaling $44 million. Participants expressed hope that the upcoming event would mark a new stage in deepening interregional and business cooperation and generate even more substantial results.

The forum is being held at the initiative of Natalia Kochanova, Chairperson of the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus, and Tanzila Narbaeva, Chairperson of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
