Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- At the sixteenth plenary session of the Senate, the results of the study of the state of makhallas, issues of protecting the rights and interests of women, supporting entrepreneurship, ensuring employment of the population were considered.

It was noted that today the methods of work put forward by the head of state in the context of makhallas and directly with citizens show their effectiveness in resolving issues raised in the appeals of the population and eliminating many problems in society. In order to identify and eliminate problems on the ground in the context of makhallas, in particular, to ensure the implementation of the programs "Obod kishlok" and "Obod makhalla", large-scale work is being carried out.

Thus, in order to introduce the principle of equality between women and men in all spheres and levels of decision-making and implementation in the country, to create conditions for the realization of equal rights and opportunities for men and women, as well as to promote gender equality in economic, political and social life, the Strategy for Achievement gender equality in Uzbekistan until 2030 was adopted.

This year alone, 7 normative legal acts were adopted to increase social and political activity, protect health, support the aspirations and initiatives of women, create decent working and living conditions for them, expand their role and participation in the life of the family and society.

Another feature. Over the past period, labor authorities have provided services in the area of employment and labor to 308.8 thousand women. The system of effective implementation of vocational training and entrepreneurship training programs for young people and women, as well as the allocation of microcredits for their entrepreneurial activities has been improved

The meeting heard the information of K. Rafikov, chairman of the Republican Commission for Systemic Problem Solving and Social Support for Women.

It was noted that in January-May of this year, 430,275 (99.4%) women included in the "women’s notebook" received practical assistance. In particular, assistance was rendered to 251,363 unemployed women in need of social protection in obtaining a permanent source of income.

The skills of entrepreneurship were improved for 66 660 women who expressed a desire to start entrepreneurship, they were allocated loans in the amount of 830 billion 37 million soums.

4,065 women who live in non-residential premises and do not have housing in the name of their or co-living family members were paid compensation for rent in the amount of 8 billion 635 million soums, 4,769 women were provided with affordable affordable housing.

At the expense of the "Women’s Notebook" Fund, the "Kindness and Support" Fund, as well as sponsorship and other sources, material assistance was provided to 36 697 needy women who lost their breadwinner, in the amount of 27 billion 572 million soums, 29 040 women with disabilities and needy outsiders. aid - in the amount of 21 billion 58 million soums, 8,103 single women with dependent children with disabilities - in the amount of 6 billion 959 million soums.

In order to reduce oncological diseases, 300 893 women were vaccinated against human papillomavirus. 4 million 13 thousand women of childbearing age underwent in-depth medical examination.

For women included in the "women’s notebook" tours around the country were organized under the motto "A country where women are respected."

Thanks to the provision of appropriate practical assistance to women included in the "women’s notebook" and the solution of their problems to this day, based on the decisions of the sessions of regional and city Kengashes of people’s deputies, 357,998 women have been excluded from the "women’s notebook".

At the meeting, along with the work done, some of the shortcomings made in the field of eliminating socio-economic problems were critically discussed.

It was noted that not all regions are equally responsible for the issues of social support of the population. Indifference and lethargy are manifested in the effective use of available opportunities. The need was emphasized to ensure the effective functioning of the vertical system of ministries and departments, to strengthen interaction between the responsible departments and organizations.

In addition, it was noted that local Kengashes made shortcomings in working with the "iron notebook", "youth notebook", "women’s notebook".

It was also emphasized that the population was not well informed, especially the socially unprotected layers of the population, including women, about the opportunities and benefits created; in this regard, special attention should be paid to work in this direction.

Senators expressed their opinion on the further strengthening of measures aimed at increasing the socio-political, economic activity of women in society, protecting their rights and interests, supporting entrepreneurship, providing employment, and further improving family relations.

The corresponding resolution of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis was adopted on this issue.
