Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) - The first day of one of the brightest and long-awaited youth events of this spring - the Five Initiatives Movement - has ended in Tashkent. The event was organized by the capital’s khokimiyat. The Grand opening impressed numerous participants and guests.
At the official opening, the khokim of the city of Tashkent, Jakhongir Artykhodjaev, addressed the young participants of the movement, the main characters of this large-scale event, with words of support and motivation.
On the first day, the opening took place in several directions at once. A rich program has been launched that has covered sports, eSports, Brain Ring, Women Networking and many more.
A press conference was held with the organizers of the movement, at which detailed information about the event was given to journalists and bloggers.
- Such large-scale events cannot be held in a month or two. You need to prepare for them for a long time. The traffic takes place in the city center, so the event is open to everyone. If there are any shortcomings at the festival this year, they will be taken into account in the future. And next time the events will be held in several locations at the same time, - said the khokim of Tashkent Jakhongir Artikhodjaev during a press conference.
The budget allocated for the event was also announced, which amounted to 1 billion soums, and it was added that this amount may increase.
Women Networking Week started from the first day, in which about 130 participants were registered. During the event, girls aged 16 to 30 will develop projects related to science and technology, social sphere, design and business. The best startup following the results of the movement will receive funding.
At the opening of the event, the chairman of the "Youth Parliament" under the Senate of the Oliy Majlis Mohistar Mukhammadyunusova, UN Resident Coordinator and UNDP Representative in the Republic of Uzbekistan Helena Fraser and journalist and PR-specialist Nafosat Tojibaeva made speeches.
Helena Fraser, speaking at Women Networking Week as part of the Tashkent Five Initiatives Movement, addressed the participants:
"Ensuring the rights and opportunities for girls and women is a priority for the well-being of the whole country. Without this, the path to sustainable development is impossible.
After this event, I wish you to become a role model for what young women can do and achieve. "
One of the teams at Women Networking Week, which is part of the Tashkent Five Initiatives Movement, shared the idea of the project. They want to develop an internet-based employment platform accessible to people with disabilities, women victims of violence, and people from socially vulnerable families. The goal of the project is to eradicate unemployment.
“Everything will be involved: media, volunteering, training centers and much more. This will become the whole system. We want to cover not only the capital, but all regions. Now we are keeping statistics, identifying problems among the people in order to find solutions based on specific examples. The project has not been completed yet, today is only the first day,” said Munisa Mullojanova, a student of the Tashkent Institute of Architecture and Construction.

As part of the event, Deputy Prime Minister Behzod Musayev met with young people, in which he spoke about plans in the education system, including the creation of a new university.
“From 1 September 2021, presidential schools will open in all regions of the country. Classes there will be based on the Cambridge Education Program. When President Shavkat Mirziyoyev visited one of these institutions, he asked the question: where will the graduates who have mastered this program go to study next? To this end, the first steps have been taken to create a university of a new Uzbekistan,” Musayev said.
Brain Ring intellectual tournaments were also launched from the very first movement. Young experts who fought in the "intellectual ring" amazed the participants with their erudition and gave great motivation to the younger generation.
Events on IT technologies have started. The Ideathon ProjectX and the Tashkent Cyber Cup-2021 e-sports competition have become a popular innovative direction of the Movement.
Ideathon ProjectX aims to create technological solutions for priority social problems in the city of Tashkent. It is also training participants in new working methods, such as Design Thinking and Agile, which are widely used in the developed countries of the world.
As part of the event, young people met with the Adviser to the Prime Minister for the Development of Information Technologies and Communications Olimjon Umarov, Deputy Minister of Innovative Development of Uzbekistan Olimjon Tuychiev and Director of IT Park Farhod Ibragimov.
- There are more than 130 information technology training centers, 14 IT schools, youth IT parks in the republic. All these organizations form a favorable system for supporting young people in the field of ICT learning, said Olimjon Umarov, Advisor to the Prime Minister for the Development of Information Technologies and Communications.
- Recently, the Cabinet of Ministers signed a resolution, according to which, from 1 June, youth 50% of the expenses for obtaining international IT certificates will be covered by the state. That is, if you receive a certificate from Microsoft, Google or other companies, the state will refund you half of the cost. This additionally creates convenience, opportunity and accessibility in obtaining international education.
This year, 50 billion soums have been allocated for the implementation of startups. If you have a good idea, but no resources to promote, contact the Ministry of Innovative Development. It will finance. Therefore, there are many opportunities, you need to use them, said Olimjon Umarov.
Over the course of 4 days, the screening of participants will gradually take place, and on May 25, at the award ceremony, the names of the winners will be announced. The best project developed on the ProjectX ideathon will receive funding for its implementation from TBC Bank.
The football championship was opened by the unsurpassed and legendary referee Ravshan Irmatov. The event brought together 270 registered teams. This block is designed to identify talented athletes among the youth of Uzbekistan to provide direct state support to the initiatives of young people.
In general, even the first day of the football championship showed how much the number of young people who are fond of sports has increased today.
The field of sports turned out to be one of the most popular among young people and attracted a lot of attention. Tournaments in Street ball, arm wrestling, Street Workout, Laser run, table tennis have been launched. Also on the territory there is a special area for skaters and rollers.
Dance and vocal contests Tashkent Dance Fest and Tashkent Voice Fest, where active and talented boys and girls compete for prizes, were bright events in the program.
Also within the first day there was held a fair of handicrafts (Hand made). Visitors got acquainted with the artists of the Street Art movement, as well as witnessed the dance and vocal competitions Tashkent Dance Fest and Tashkent Voice Fest.
The rich program ended with an incendiary performance of DJs. The most active participants will receive prizes from the organizers. The event will run until 25 May.
