Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 27-28 October 2022, the CIS Inter-Parliamentary Assembly will be held in the city of Samarkand for the first time. Heads and members of parliamentary delegations of the IPA CIS member states, as well as representatives of international organizations, scientists and experts will take part in the events in a face-to-face format.

On 27 October, meetings of the permanent commissions of the Assembly will be held - on culture, information, tourism and sports, on agrarian policy, natural resources and ecology, on political issues and international cooperation.

On the same day, young parliamentarians from the Commonwealth countries will gather for a meeting of the Youth Interparliamentary Assembly of the CIS member states.

On 27 October, a meeting of the IPA CIS Council will take place. The heads of parliamentary delegations will discuss topical issues of cooperation, sum up the results of the events held in 2022, and hear information about monitoring election campaigns in the CIS.

On 28 October, the 54th plenary meeting of the IPA CIS will take place. It is planned that the parliamentarians will consider a large block of model laws on electoral topics. A number of other bills will also be submitted to deputies and senators so that they can later use them in the national legislations of the Commonwealth countries.

On the eve of the main events of the session, on 25 October, a meeting of the Expert Council of the Interparliamentary Assembly of the CIS Member States and the Regional Commonwealth in the field of communications will be held.
