Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) – On 16-17 November 2021, with the organizational support of the Russian Union of Rectors, the Second Russian-Uzbek educational forum will be held on the basis of Moscow State University named after M.V. Lomonosov.
It will be attended by the heads of ministries and departments of Russia and Uzbekistan, presidents of the academies of sciences of the two countries, more than 100 rectors, leading Russian and Uzbek universities. The forum will be held on the sidelines of the state visit of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev to the Russian Federation.
The main topics of the upcoming forum will be discussion of key areas of Russian-Uzbek cooperation in the field of personnel training; scientific cooperation between Russia and Uzbekistan; teaching and disseminating the Russian language in Uzbekistan and humanitarian projects, taking into account the priorities of bilateral cooperation; experience and perspectives of integration of education systems of Russia and Uzbekistan from the levels of preschool education and upbringing to higher education.
The first Russian-Uzbek educational forum was held in October 2018 in Tashkent during the state visit of the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin to the Republic of Uzbekistan. Rectors of leading Russian and Uzbek universities presented the results of cooperation between higher educational institutions of Russia and Uzbekistan, discussed the main tasks for the development of higher education systems in the two countries. The practical result of the event was the signing of 128 agreements on cooperation and implementation of joint educational programs and projects between the universities of Russia and Uzbekistan.
In the period 2019-2021, three Interregional conferences of universities in Russia and Uzbekistan were held, each of which was attended by up to 200 rectors, vice-rectors and professors from universities in Russia and Uzbekistan. The parties discussed the development of a network of branches of Russian universities in Uzbekistan, the implementation of joint educational programs providing for the receipt of two diplomas, academic exchanges, student practices, and joint scientific research.
As a result of the conferences, several dozen memorandums and agreements on cooperation were signed between the leading universities of the two countries. The agreements reached provide for cooperation in the creation of joint faculties, scientific and educational programs and the exchange of teaching staff.
