Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) – On 23 January 2023, Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan Bakhtiyor Saidov met with the Secretary General of the Conference on Interaction and Confidence Building Measures in Asia (CICA) Kairat Sarybay, whose delegation arrived in our country as a partner organization.

It was noted that the Uzbek side considers the CICA as an important platform for strengthening dialogue in the name of stability and promoting inclusive development in the vast Asian region.

In recent years, the republic has significantly stepped up its participation in the activities of this structure. The importance of the integrated implementation of the initiatives announced by the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev at the CICA summit in October 2022 in Astana, to strengthen cooperation in the areas of regional stability, youth policy, ecology and food security, was emphasized.

Uzbekistan is the coordinator of CICA confidence-building measures in the human dimension in 2020-2023. and co-chair of the CICA Youth Council. The schedule of planned events under the auspices of the CICA was discussed, including the next meeting of the Youth Council, held in April this year in Samarkand.

An exchange of views took place on the regional agenda.
