Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The Samarkand SCO summit opened a new page in the history of the development of the Organization. This opinion was expressed by Ruslan Izimov, Director of the Center for the Study of China in Central Asia "Synopsis", speaking at an international online conference: "Samarkand SCO summit: contribution to regional and international security, sustainable development", taking place in Tashkent.

The expert noted that with the entry into the SCO of such states as India, Pakistan and Iran, the countries of Central Asia, squeezed inside the continent, will have access to the world’s sea routes - strategically important ports in South Asia. Free access to the markets of countries will allow linking the regions and increasing the volume of mutual trade, concluded Ruslan Izimov.

The event, organized by the ISMI under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan in partnership with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the International Institute of Central Asia with the assistance of the Executive Committee of the SCO RATS, brought together more than 30 prominent representatives from among the expert and analytical circles of the SCO member states, as well as a number of countries far abroad, including the USA, Belgium, Great Britain, Germany, France, Hungary and other countries.
