Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 15 April, law enforcement bodies of Uzbekistan prevented the sale of 40 hectares of land for US$3 million.
During special operation, five citizens were detained at the parking lot of the Korzinka supermarket in Chilanzar district of the city of Tashkent while receiving an advance payment from the author of the application in the amount of US$180,000 from the agreed amount of 3 million US dollars for a pasture land with the area of 40 hectares located in the Sari-Kanli mahalla.
This plot of land was transferred by the decision of the khokim of Bostanlyk district of Tashkent region to Mega Building Business for the construction of a hotel complex and a cottage town, innovative entertainment complexes, restaurants and commercial and consumer service complexes, with the condition of building a preschool educational institution for 140 places and its gratuitous transfer to the balance of the khokimiyat. But, despite the fact that they were not granted the right to own this land plot, they tried to realize it without building a hotel complex.
On the fact, the criminal case under the relevant articles of the criminal code was opened and the detainees were taken into custody. Currently, the prosecutor’s office of Tashkent region is conducting investigation.
