Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- By decree of the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, the salary of public transport drivers has been doubled in the capital.

According to the instructions of the head of state, bus drivers of Tashshahartranskhizmat JSC have been receiving a monthly salary of at least 5-6 million soums since December this year.

On 13 December, the head of state visited bus depot No. 18 in Tashkent. He instructed to improve the quality of passenger service, purchase new large-capacity buses and increase the wages of drivers.

In particular, Shavkat Mirziyoyev instructed Prime Minister Abdulla Aripov to purchase 1,000 new buses for Tashkent by March 2023.
