The results of 2021 in the leather and footwear and fur and fur spheres have been summed up, plans for 2022 have been determined

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) - An expanded meeting was held at the Uzcharmsanoat Association with the participation of the central office and territorial departments of the Association.

The main topics on the agenda are the results of 2021 and the priority tasks of the Uzcharmsanoat Association for 2022, topical issues of production, investment, export, localization, standardization and certification, improvement of payment discipline.

At the beginning of the meeting, a detailed analysis of the activities of the Association for 2021 was carried out. So, this year, the volume of production at the enterprises of the industry amounted to 4.4 trillion soums. In particular, in 2021, 1 billion 617.5 million square decimeters of leather products was produced. As a result, the planned tasks have been fully completed. 115 million pairs of shoes, as well as leather goods for 112 billion soums were produced.

After that, the participants of the meeting were acquainted with the presentations of the responsible persons on the work carried out within the framework of the localization program in 2021. Thus, at the end of the year, 38 new projects were implemented. Thanks to this, the production of import-substituting products for 63.5 billion soums has been achieved. As a result, Uzbekistan began to produce products that were previously imported from abroad. These are polyurethane soles for shoes, PVC soles, DOP plasticizer, EVA granules and gelatin.

The meeting also discussed in detail the issues of investment and export. It was noted that the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan had given instructions in the coming years to increase the volume of exports of leather, footwear and fur products by more than US$1 billion.

This year, products worth US$437.1 million were exported. Within the framework of investment and regional programs, 204 projects worth US$202 million have been implemented. US$76 million of which are direct foreign investments.

At the extended meeting of the Association, reports on the work of territorial offices to strengthen payment discipline were heard. Instructions were given on the timely collection of payments from enterprises in arrears.

Also, at the meeting, priority tasks for 2022 were identified. In particular, next year it is planned to increase the volume of industrial production to 4.8 trillion soums, to use US$218 million for the implementation of 136 projects within the framework of investment and regional programs, and to raise export indicators to US$450 million.
