Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 16 February 2023, Special Representative of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan for Afghanistan Ismatulla Irgashev met with Frank Remus, Senior Advisor to the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR).

An exchange of views took place on topical issues of the joint agenda. In particular, the UNHCR representative highly appreciated the efforts of Uzbekistan to provide comprehensive assistance to the Afghan people, as well as providing an opportunity to transport goods to Afghanistan through the International Multifunctional Transport and Logistics Hub for Humanitarian Aid in Termez, created on the initiative of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev .

In this regard, the parties stressed the importance of expanding cooperation between Uzbekistan and international partners. They also discussed the wide use of the International Hub, which has all the necessary infrastructure, for the delivery of goods not only to Afghanistan, but also to other countries of the world.
