Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 14 February 2023, Special Representative of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan for Afghanistan Ismatulla Irgashev met with the Commissioner of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Federal Republic of Germany for Eastern Europe, the Caucasus and Central Asia Matthias Luttenberg.

During the meeting, an exchange of views took place on the situation in Afghanistan, as well as on some issues of interaction to resolve the situation in that country.

The diplomat praised the efforts of Uzbekistan in establishing long-term peace and stability in Afghanistan, as well as providing humanitarian assistance to the Afghan people.

The representative of the German Foreign Ministry paid special attention to aspects related to the practical implementation of Uzbekistan’s initiative to create an International Negotiating Group under the auspices of the UN.
