The report of the Government on the implementation of the State program discussed

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) - On 3 February 2021, on the eve of the twelfth plenary meeting of the upper house of parliament in the form of videoconference, a meeting of the Senate Committee of the Oliy Majlis on Science, Education and Health was held.

It was attended by members of the Senate, representatives of relevant ministries and departments, experts and the media.

The meeting preliminarily discussed issues to be considered at the twelfth plenary session of the Senate, in particular the results of a parliamentary inquiry sent to the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan on the state of measures taken to develop scientific activities.

In addition, the report of the Cabinet of Ministers on the implementation in 2020 of the State Program for the implementation of the Strategy of Action in five priority areas of development of the Republic of Uzbekistan in 2017-2021 in the "Year of Science, Education and Digital Economy Development" was preliminary considered.

It was noted that within the framework of the Program on priority areas of development of the social sphere, one Law of the Republic of Uzbekistan, 3 decrees and 12 resolutions of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, 16 resolutions and orders of the Cabinet of Ministers were adopted and 21 action plans were approved.

Certain work has been done to develop the social sphere: reduce unemployment among the population, develop science and continuous education, improve the quality of medical services and expand services for the population, and form a healthy lifestyle in society.

In particular, the coverage of preschool education for preschool children has reached 60%, and taking into account the experience of Finland, the development of a national curriculum has been determined to be introduced into the public education system. From the next academic year, 70 basic schools have been identified for the pilot testing of the national curriculum, more than 8 thousand km of fiber-optic communication cable have been laid in 7,150 secondary schools in the public education system and work has been carried out to connect to the high-speed world information network Internet. In addition, the number of higher educational institutions in the country reached 128, of which 11 new higher educational institutions were created in 2020, the activities of 817 rural medical stations, 800 rural family polyclinics and 181 family polyclinics have been radically revised in the framework of the adopted decrees and resolutions on radical reform of the system. health care in 2020.

At the same time, the senators noted that the drafts of regulatory documents on the implementation of certain points of the Program have not been approved, construction and repair work has not been completed at some social facilities that were supposed to be launched.

An agreement was reached to pay special attention to the implementation of the unfulfilled points of the State Program in the field of science, education and health care with the participation of the heads of ministries and departments involved in the activities of the Committee.

An appropriate decision of the Committee was adopted on the issue discussed at the meeting.
