Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) - A Presidential Resolution "On measures to further improve the quality of medical and social services provided to persons with disabilities" was adopted.
According to the Resolution:
- by the end of 2021, 2 thousand modern hearing aids will be purchased, which will be delivered to children with hearing impairments studying in specialized educational institutions;
- In addition to the 260 cochlear implants to be purchased, 355 cochlear implants will be purchased for children under 5 years of age through surgery;
- In 2021, up to 2 thousand additional people, and from 2022 annually up to 3 thousand children will undergo surgical operations for congenital heart defects and pathological changes in the brain (including hydrocephalus);
- kits of the transpedicular system (fixators) will be purchased annually for at least 110 sick children who will undergo surgery for scoliosis and other pathologies of the spine;
- on average, 1,000 children per year will purchase the necessary metal structures for the surgical treatment of congenital and pathological hip dislocations;
- at least 140 special plates will be purchased and installed annually for the treatment of chest deformities in 150 sick children;
- 350 Ilizarov devices were purchased for the treatment of congenital limb pathologies in sick children;
- Collopan granules will be purchased annually for at least 100 patients to correct bone defects during surgical interventions;
- The National Center for Rehabilitation and Prosthetics of Persons with Disabilities and its territorial centers will be equipped with modern equipment for an exoskeleton in 2021-2023 - 54 sets, of which in 2021 - 14 sets;
- In 2021-2025, 11.6 thousand units will be purchased, including 1,100 electric wheelchairs in 2021;
- blind children and adults are provided with 9 thousand voice thermometers, 10 thousand voice blood pressure monitors, 20 thousand Braille typesetting fonts;
- an innovative information project will be introduced for lonely elderly and disabled people in need of outside help, to provide them with emergency assistance in the event of severe and emergency situations. At the same time, up to 5 thousand watches with special functions (“smart watches”) will be delivered to the relevant categories of persons in 2021 and 12 thousand in 2022-2023.
