Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The Prosecutor General’s Office of Uzbekistan unveiled the preliminary cause of death of Polat Shamshetov.
According to the Prosecutor General’s Office, death occurred on 4 February in pre-trial detention center No. 4 of the Department for the Execution of Punishment under the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Uzbekistan in Bukhara.
A forensic medical examination was called in to determine the cause of death. According to preliminary data, Polat Shamshetov died as a result of pulmonary embolism and acute cardiovascular failure.
The scene of the incident was studied by the operational-investigative group, which included the heads of the prosecutor’s office and the Internal Affairs Directorate of Bukhara region, forensic experts, and witnesses. The place was also examined by a representative of the Ombudsman for Bukhara region, the lawyer of the deceased and his close relatives.
