Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The Resolution of the President “On measures to further strengthen the system of counteracting the disease caused by the human immunodeficiency virus” was adopted.
The resolution approved the Program of Comprehensive Measures to Increase the Efficiency of Combating the Spread of HIV Infection among the Population for 2023–2027.
The program envisages the following:
- in order to actively detect HIV infection among the population, uninterrupted provision of 15 AIDS centers and their 63 inter-district diagnostic laboratories with diagnostic test systems (ELISA) of the latest generation;
- expanding the coverage of migrants with voluntary HIV testing;
- in order to prevent the transmission of HIV infection from mother to child, the uninterrupted provision of powdered milk formula to infants under the age of 6 months born to an HIV-infected mother;
- strengthening the social protection of people living with HIV infection.
According to the resolution, in order to establish the implementation of the process of conducting a mandatory medical examination for HIV infection of persons entering into marriage through an electronic system, electronic interaction between the registry office and relevant medical institutions will be organized:
- until 1 June 2023 - in the city of Tashkent and Syrdarya region;
- until the end of 2023 - in other regions.
By the end of 2023, an electronic information system will be created that will provide the opportunity to monitor identified cases of HIV infection, track the movement of drugs and diagnostics in real time.
