Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) - A government resolution made amendments and additions to the Temporary Regulation on the procedure for kidney and (or) liver transplantation between relatives. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Justice.
According to the Resolution, this Regulation also determines the procedure for transplantation of hematopoietic bone marrow stem cells.
Bone marrow hematopoietic stem cell transplantation is a surgical procedure performed to transplant healthy bone marrow stem cells to a recipient or bone marrow stem cells from a living donor instead of damaged cells that cause irreversible harm to human health and cannot perform hematopoietic functions.
Living donors for transplantation of hematopoietic stem cells of the bone marrow can be both relatives of the recipient and persons who are not in a relationship with him.
Bone marrow hematopoietic stem cells transplantation is carried out only in the Republican Specialized Scientific and Practical Medical Center of Hematology.
Also, the Regulation included instructions and contraindications for transplantation.
