Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) - The Regulation on granting academic leave to students of higher educational institutions was approved by the Government resolution.
According to the Regulations, the university students can be granted academic leave in the following cases:
-for military service;
- to restore health;
-for pregnancy and childbirth;
-for child care;
- on caring for a sick family member (father, mother or persons replacing them, spouse, child).
A student’s application for an academic leave is considered within a week and is formalized by the order of the rector (director) of the university.
In accordance with the order of the rector (director) of university, at the request (discretion) of a student on academic leave, his studies for the period of academic leave can be transferred to correspondence or distance learning, or external studies.
Granting an academic leave to a student is not considered an exclusion from a higher education institution.
Stipends are not paid to a student during academic leave.
Students who return from academic leave within the prescribed period are not required to re-master the previously studied subjects.
