Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The Regulation on the procedure for carrying out linguistic examination of draft regulatory legal acts was approved by the Government resolution.
According to the Regulations, from 1 January 2023, draft regulatory legal acts are subject to linguistic expertise prior to agreement with ministries and departments.
Linguistic expertise is carried out by a consultant to the head of the organization that developed the project, based on the following requirements:
- simplicity and conciseness of sentences, accuracy of definitions;
- compliance with spelling, stylistic and grammatical rules;
- new terms, as well as the correct use of industry terms;
- correct combination of phrases;
- structure and expressive sequence of presentation.
The consultant or specialist, within 3 days or within the time period established by the contract, gives an opinion indicating recommendations for eliminating errors and shortcomings identified by the results of the linguistic examination, and submits the project to the developer.
Accordingly, the text of the draft will be processed and sent to ministries and departments for approval.
The project is not allowed to use:
- forms of oral speech;
- terms of foreign languages, if there are equivalent words and concepts in the state language;
- obsolete and ambiguous words and phrases, figurative comparisons, adjectives, allusions;
- abbreviations and abbreviations (except for generally accepted abbreviations and abbreviations).
