Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The work of the second stage of the project “Construction, reconstruction of drinking water supply and sewerage systems in cities and districts of Tashkent region” is in full swing. 

This project is funded with funds from the Asian Development Bank in the amount of US$124.6 million.

Within the framework of this project, intended for 2019-2025, it is planned to reconstruct the water structure VU-1, with a capacity of 60 thousand cubic meters per day in Kuyichirchik district, to provide the population of Yangiyul and Chinaz districts with drinking water.

37543 water meters will be installed in the homes of citizens of those regions where the project is being implemented, 3969 local sanitary systems of sewer wells will be built. As a result, the drinking water supply of 232.3 thousand inhabitants or 83 villages will improve, the coverage of drinking water supply will be increased from 64.1 percent to 85.8 percent. In Zangiata region, 10 settlements will be fully provided with drinking water.
