Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 24 March, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev received a delegation from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia headed by Investment Minister Khalid al-Falih, who is in our country as part of participation in the first Tashkent International Investment Forum.
Khalid al-Falih thanked the President of Uzbekistan for the warm welcome, conveyed greetings and best wishes from the King of Saudi Arabia Salman al-Saud and Crown Prince Mohammed al-Saud.
During the conversation, issues of further development of the Uzbek-Saudi multifaceted relations were considered.
The head of our state highly appreciated the dynamic development of bilateral cooperation and the promotion of major investment projects, primarily in the energy sector.
Particularly the sides noted was the contribution of ACWA Power Corporation to the promotion of projects for the modernization of energy infrastructure and the development of "green" energy in various regions of our country with a total value of US$2.7 billion.
In addition, a number of socially significant projects are being implemented with the participation of the Saudi Development Fund.
Important attention was paid to the preparation and implementation of promising investment projects in the oil and gas, gas chemical and chemical industries, mining, agriculture, healthcare and pharmaceuticals, as well as other priority areas based on the road map.
