Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The power generation capacity in Uzbekistan will be increased to 27,400 megawatts by 2026.
It is noted that by 2026, solar and wind power plants with a total capacity of 8,000 megawatts, hydroelectric power plants with a capacity of 868 megawatts and new thermal power plants with a capacity of 6,008 megawatts will be put into operation in the country.
As a result, the production capacity in Uzbekistan will be increased to 27,400 megawatts. Elmira Bekmurodova, head of the information service of the Ministry of Energy, announced this.
For comparison, if in the period from 1991 to 2016, that is, in 25 years, 3,300 megawatts were put into operation, then in the period from 2017 to 2026, that is, in the last 10 years, 18,324 megawatts.
