The only pottery complex in Uzbekistan to open its doors soon

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- These days, in one of the ancient corners of Ferghana Valley, in Rishtan, famous for its potters, artisans, ceramists, finishing work is being completed in the only pottery complex in Uzbekistan. Undoubtedly, the complex will become not only a place that unites workshops and houses with all the conditions for master ceramists into a single ensemble, but also a favorite hotbed of folk crafts, which arouses great interest among foreign tourists.

In the resolution of the President of Uzbekistan from 28 November 2019 "On additional measures for the further development of handicrafts and support for artisans", a number of commercial banks of the country are assigned priority tasks in order to widely attract young people, women and low-income groups of the population to folk crafts, and through this - to ensure their employment.

The Rishtan pottery complex, built by Uzpromstroybank under the leadership of the Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan - Minister of Investments and Foreign Trade Sardor Umrzakov, is also a practical reflection of the work carried out in this direction.

The complex, built in the spirit of national traditions of architecture and modern architecture, consists of two-story houses for 20 craftsmen (a workshop and a shopping store will be located on the ground floor), as well as a museum-gallery and a banking services center.

In the construction of a complex on a land area of 1.1 hectares, the company "SQB Capital" under Uzpromstroybank carried out construction work for 19 billion soums. It is noteworthy that during the construction of the complex, the opinions and suggestions of Rishtan artisans, in particular, ceramic masters, were taken into account. As a result, each house has a unique architectural solution, one might say, a special look.

With the commissioning of the complex, about 230 new jobs will be created, and the export abroad of unique products made by folk craftsmen is also provided. At the same time, the exhibition hall-museum in the complex will serve as a demonstration of samples of national applied art of our people, and finally, increase the tourist potential of Rishtan by acquainting visitors with the process of creating pottery.

Along with this, these days at the historical monument "Khuja Rushnoy" located next to the complex, with the assistance of Uzpromstroybank, work is being completed on reconstruction and improvement.

In a word, the Rishtan pottery complex being built by Uzpromstroybank and the reconstructed historical monument "Khuja Rushnoy" will serve to preserve our national values, bring them to future generations, and familiarize representatives of other countries with the unique spiritual world of our people.
