Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Spokesman of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan Yusup Kabuljanov commented on the entry into force of an agreement between Uzbekistan and Iran on visa facilitation for representatives of business and scientific circles and tourist groups.
The document was signed on 14 September 2022 in Samarkand and entered into force on 13 October.
According to the document, the parties, on a parity basis and in accordance with the provisions of national legislation, introduce a simplified process for issuing visas for representatives of business and scientific circles of the states of the parties, as well as for tourist groups.
Yusup Kabuljanov noted that at the same time, "representatives of the business community" means citizens of the state of one Party who carry out investment and entrepreneurial activities in the territory of the other Party.
"Representatives of the scientific community" - citizens of the state of one side, carrying out science and scientific activities in the territory of the other side, he noted.
"Tourist group" - citizens of the state of one side from 5 (five) to 20 (twenty) people who simultaneously enter the territory of the other Party for tourism purposes, the representative of the Uzbek Foreign Ministry added.
Yusup Kabuljanov noted that the competent authorities of the states of the parties, after receiving the relevant documents required by the legislation of the states of the parties, consider them within 3 (three) business days (excluding the date of receipt of the document) and, if approved, issue a confirmation for issuing a visa.
Diplomatic missions and consular offices of the states of the parties issue the following visas:
multiple-entry visa valid for up to 6 (six) months for representatives of business circles of the state of the other party visiting the state of one party for the purpose of carrying out business activities;
a visa valid for up to 1 (one) month for representatives of the scientific community of the state of the other side of the visitor for the purpose of conducting science and scientific activities;
tourist visa for up to 30 (thirty) days for citizens of the state of the other party who visit the state of one party as a tourist, as part of groups of tourists;
In exceptional cases, if additional consideration is required, the issuance of a visa can be extended for a period not exceeding 10 (ten) days, Yusup Kabuljanov noted.
