Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The number of students from Uzbekistan in the United States of America in the 2019-2020 academic year was 546. This was reported by the press service of the US Embassy in Tashkent, citing data from the OpenDoors report for 2020.

At the same time, the number of students from Uzbekistan in the United States decreased by 4.4% compared to last year.

According to the OpenDoors report, 50.5% of students from Uzbekistan study at the undergraduate level, 31.5% at the graduate level, 11.5% take optional practice, and 6.4% take English language courses or short-term studies.

“This reflects the growing interest in American education among students in Uzbekistan. American higher education institutions are also showing increasing interest in recruiting students from Uzbekistan,” the US diplomatic mission said.
