The number of foreign students in Uzbekistan has grown to 12,500

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Over the past 10 years, the number of foreign students in Uzbekistan has increased nearly 18 times.

According to the Statistics Agency, at the beginning of the 2024/2025 academic year, there are 12,500 foreign students enrolled in higher education institutions across the country.

The dynamics of the number of foreign students in Uzbekistan's universities by academic years:

2015/2016 academic year — 0.7 thousand students

2016/2017 academic year — 0.6 thousand students

2017/2018 academic year — 1.3 thousand students

2018/2019 academic year — 2.7 thousand students

2019/2020 academic year — 3.6 thousand students

2020/2021 academic year — 4.2 thousand students

2021/2022 academic year — 5.1 thousand students

2022/2023 academic year — 5.0 thousand students

2023/2024 academic year — 10.8 thousand students

2024/2025 academic year — 12.5 thousand students.
