The net profit of Khalq Bank decreased by almost 75% in the first quarter

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- For the first quarter of 2024, the net profit of Khalq Bank made up 15.4 billion soums, which is 74.9% less than in the same period of last year, according to the bank’s quarterly report.

The bank’s assets increased by 16% in the reporting period compared to the same period in 2023 and reached 37.9 trillion soums.

Khalq Bank increased its capital by 11.4% in the first quarter of 2024 compared to the same period of last year, reaching 5.9 trillion soums.

The bank’s interest income exceeded 1.7 trillion soums (an increase of 18.1% compared to the same period in 2023), and non-interest income amounted to 1 trillion soums (-27.6%).

According to the Central Bank of Uzbekistan, the loan portfolio as of 1 April 2024 reached 25.47 trillion soums, with the share of non-performing loans (NPL) amounting to 7.5%.
