The Navoi-Kaplanbek checkpoint to be closed from 1 December

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The Navoi (Zangiata) checkpoint on the border between Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan (on the Kazakh side - Kaplanbek) will be closed for reconstruction and modernization from 1 December 2022. This was reported by the press service of the State Customs Committee.

Earlier it was reported that the checkpoint will be closed from 1 November 2022.

The State Customs Committee notes that the prime ministers of Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan agreed to close the point for reconstruction from 1 December as part of a meeting of the heads of government of the CIS countries in Astana on 28 October.

Chairman of the State Customs Committee Akmalhuja Mavlonov visited the checkpoint on 1 November to get acquainted with the reconstruction project. It is expected that the reconstruction of the checkpoint will begin and be completed simultaneously on both the Uzbek and Kazakh sides.

After the reconstruction of the Navoi checkpoint, the number of passages for transport will be doubled. At the same time, the daily throughput will increase from 300 to 1000 vehicles. The border crossing time will be reduced by three times. All necessary conditions will be created for drivers.
