Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) – 20 dental students of Uzbekistan took part for the first time in a webinar, which was held for Canadian dentists by one of the most reputable universities in Canada, Dalhousie University. This opportunity was given to them by the National Chamber of Innovative Healthcare of Uzbekistan.
This was another step in the implementation of the Program of the National Chamber for the introduction of the best international experience in the national health care, the system of training and advanced training of doctors in Uzbekistan.
The agreement on the participation of future specialists in online training with the receipt of the corresponding certificate was reached a few days earlier, during the next round of negotiations between the National Chamber and Dalhousie University.
Given the level of partnership between the National Chamber and the Canadian University, the organizers of this course, which was conducted for Canadian dentists, provided an opportunity for free access to 20 future dentists of Uzbekistan.
The new knowledge gained also helped to practically assess the level of Canadian educational courses. The webinar was moderated by Nader Hamdan - Professor of Dentistry at Dalhousie University
Undergraduate and graduate students of the Tashkent State Dental Institute successfully took part in an online seminar on the topic of complications of soft and hard tissues around dental implants, and as a result received certificates with the allocation of 2.0 credits (CEC) in accordance with the International requirements in the system of continuing education.
As noted during the negotiations between representatives of the National Chamber and Dalhousie University, Uzbekistan is also undergoing a phased introduction of a system of credit-modular points, on the basis of which it is planned to introduce a system of certification of doctors in the near future, which operates in almost all developed countries. In particular, as noted during the negotiations, Faculty of Dentistry Manager Katherine Lyle, licensing is compulsory for all working Canadian dentists.
In addition, she noted that in Canada there is a mandatory professional development for dentists every three years and the basis for renewing the license is the recruitment of a doctor for a given period of 90 hours of training on a credit-modular system. Therefore, various training courses are very important for specialists, and such systematic advanced training guarantees modern knowledge and the introduction of the latest innovations in the treatment of patients, as well as the prevention of diseases.
“Of course, our country is also interested in the constant growth of the qualifications of doctors, in this case, dentists. In this regard, the National Chamber and the Faculty of Dentistry of Dalhousie University have reached an agreement to study the issue of participation of Uzbek dentists in advanced training courses at a Canadian university, to attract students and undergraduates of the Tashkent State Dental Institute to educational webinars, and a number of other areas of cooperation, ”the chairman said. Of the National Chamber Rovshan Izamov.
We add that the projects of the National Chamber of Innovative Healthcare in the field of dentistry are being implemented, inter alia, on the basis of a Memorandum of Cooperation between this state structure and the Tashkent State Dental Institute.
