Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev signed a decree on the formation of the Ministry of Tourism and Cultural Heritage and the Ministry of Sports Development on the basis of the Ministry of Tourism and Sports.
The main tasks of the Ministry of Tourism and Cultural Heritage are:
expansion of external and internal tourism, development of new tourist routes and their promotion to tourist markets, expansion of cooperation with reputable international and national tourism organizations, introduction of international and interstate standards and norms in tourism activities and practices, development of the country’s tourism image;
expanding the types of tourism, taking targeted measures to develop primarily domestic and pilgrimage, environmental, ethnographic, business, sports, gastronomic, medical, educational and scientific tourism, identifying promising areas of tourism and creating new tourism products based on the tourism potential of the country’s regions;
identification, registration, protection, propaganda, maintenance of the state register, electronic catalog, passport and state cadastre of cultural heritage objects, state control in this direction, implementation of the norms of documents and recommendations of UNESCO and other international organizations, preservation of historical and cultural value, uniqueness, natural landscape and originality of historical and cultural territories;
marketing in the foreign and domestic markets of tourism services, popularization and promotion of the country’s tourism potential, implementation of an active advertising and information policy aimed at promoting national tourism products and brands in international tourism markets;
organization of work on planning and designing territories with tourism potential for the formation of tourism infrastructure, including the placement of tourist facilities, as well as attracting investors to them, providing comprehensive assistance in increasing entrepreneurial activity in the field of tourism, effective management of tourism facilities on the basis of state private partnership, phased full digitization of this area.
The main tasks of the Ministry of Sports Development are:
organization of work to promote sports, wide involvement in mass sports and maintaining a healthy lifestyle of the population, especially children and youth, of each town, village, aul, each mahalla of cities, towns, towns and villages, their involvement in sports on an ongoing basis, improvement and digitalization of the system of sports education, creation of a reserve of highly effective athletes in sports;
development of sports infrastructure, including an increase in sports facilities in rural and remote areas, the development of sports marketing, the effective management of sports facilities on the basis of public-private partnerships, the gradual full digitalization of the sphere, the expansion of the network of non-state sports facilities and institutions, their state support;
development of professional sports in the country, including team, winter and extreme sports, introduction of modern technologies in the process of sports training, taking into account international best practices, raising the level and quality of national championships in all sports, organizing international and regional competitions, ensuring the adoption of systemic measures to counter unhealthy sport;
interaction with the National Olympic Committee of Uzbekistan, the National Paralympic Committee of Uzbekistan, sports federations (associations) in creating an effective system of selection (selection), training and improving the skills of promising athletes, forming a high-quality sports reserve and national teams of the country from among them to ensure successful participation in the Olympic and Paralympic, Asian and Para-Asian Games, World Championships, Asian and other international competitions and tournaments;
the development of the Paralympic movement, including the expansion of conditions for playing sports for people with limited physical abilities and disabilities, the creation of its infrastructure, the selection (selection) and orientation towards professional sports of promising athletes, as well as the training of qualified specialists.
