Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The Ministry of Justice of Uzbekistan denied information about the need to retake the exam to replace old driving licenses with new ones.
The statement of the Ministry of Justice notes that recently there have been long queues in the centers of public services. The reason for this was the misinformation of citizens that the period for replacing an old-style driver’s license with a new one expires on 1 March, after which drivers will allegedly have to retake an exam to obtain the right to drive a vehicle.
The Ministry of Justice stated that this information is not true. The agency recalled that the replacement of old driver’s licenses will be carried out until 31 December 2022. However, you do not need to retake the exam.
Replacing an old-style driver’s license with a new one is carried out within the following terms:
- issued before 2010 - until 31 March 2022;
- in 2010-2012 - until 30 June 2022;
- in 2013-2015 – until 30 September 2022;
- after 2015 - until 31 December 2022.
