Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Within the framework of the Meeting of Ministers of Internal Affairs and Public Security of the SCO Member States in Tashkent, on 18 August, a separate bilateral meeting was organized between the Minister of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Lieutenant General Pulat Bobojonov, and the Minister of Internal Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran Mr Ahmad Vahidi.

During the talks, issues of prospects for the development of bilateral interdepartmental cooperation in combating crime, terrorism and extremism and other areas were discussed.

Following the meeting, the parties signed a Memorandum of Understanding between the Ministries of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Islamic Republic of Iran.
