Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan asks users of social networks (journalists, bloggers and citizens), before presenting information to the general public, to check it for reliability and legality.

“At present, various materials are disseminated in the Uzbek segment of social networks that promote radical, religious-extremist and ideas not typical of the Islamic religion,” the Interior Ministry said in a statement.

“In this regard, we warn users of social networks that the preparation, storage and dissemination of information promoting various radical, religious-extremist and ideas not typical of the Islamic religion may entail liability established by Articles 156 (Incitement of national, racial, ethnic or religious hatred) , 244 note-3 (Illegal production, storage, import or distribution of materials of religious content) of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan, ”the message says.

“In connection with the above, we ask users of social networks (journalists, bloggers and citizens), before presenting information to the general public, to check it for reliability and legality,” the law enforcement body emphasizes.
