Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The people of Uzbekistan, with a sense of deep sorrow, perceived the message of the death and injury of a large number of people as a result of an explosion committed on 17 August this year in one of the mosques in Kabul during evening prayers, the statement of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan.

At least 20 people were killed in an explosion at a mosque in the northeast of Kabul, Al Jazeera reports, citing a source. The interlocutor of the channel also said that during the emergency in the capital of Afghanistan, about 40 people were injured.

The government of Uzbekistan strongly condemns the terrorist act and expresses the hope that all measures will be taken to identify the organizers and perpetrators of this barbaric action, the statement said.

“The Uzbek side expresses sincere condolences to the families and loved ones of the victims, and also wishes a speedy recovery to the injured,” the Foreign Ministry concluded.
