Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- A delegation from the Republic of Tajikistan headed by the chairman of Sughd region of Tajikistan Rajabboy Ahmadzoda arrived in Uzbekistan on an official two-day visit. 

The visit and a study tour to the objects of the agrarian industry was organized by the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Uzbekistan following the results of a high-level visit to Tajikistan on 10-11 June. 

At the end of the first day and a number of negotiations, representatives of the delegation met with the Minister of Agriculture Jamshid Khodjaev and the khokim of Tashkent region Davron Khidoyatov to discuss the potential for cooperation, opportunities and conditions.

The Tajik delegation included the heads of the Khujand, Gulistan, Spitamen and Zafarabad districts of Tajikistan, as well as the heads of large agricultural industries and companies. The main purpose of the visit is to strengthen cooperation in the field of agriculture, familiarize the Tajik side with a number of agricultural objects and exchange experience.

On the first day of the visit, special attention within the study tour was paid to such areas as the cluster system, intensive gardening, greenhouses, viticulture and winemaking, agricultural processing, livestock enterprises, as well as the introduction of effective modern technologies for rational irrigation.

Among the objects visited by guests from Tajikistan were TNA Agro Invest cluster enterprises for processing and drying fruits and vegetables, Real Agro Cotton for cotton processing and textile production, Uzum Farmer winery, UzTex enterprise.

On 25 June, as part of the visit, the Tajik delegation will visit the AKIS Agricultural Knowledge, Innovation and Services Center in the Tashkent region, the TST Rice rice cluster, the Gold Dried Foods full-cycle agrological center, as well as other facilities.
