Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 14 February 2023, the 18th round of political consultations between the foreign ministries of Uzbekistan and Germany was held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
The delegations of the parties were headed by Deputy Foreign Minister of Uzbekistan Gairat Fozilov and Commissioner of the German Ministry of Foreign Affairs for Eastern Europe, the Caucasus and Central Asia Matthias Luttenberg.
During the event, the current state and prospects of bilateral cooperation, issues of expanding political relations and filling them with practical content, and a schedule of upcoming contacts at various levels were discussed in detail.
Particular attention was paid to the active promotion of economic diplomacy, including by attracting German investments and technologies to the implementation of projects in Uzbekistan, increasing exports to Germany of goods produced in our country.
The parties made an inventory of the signed bilateral documents, reviewed the current state of the contractual and legal framework, as well as the progress in the implementation of previously reached agreements.
An exchange of views took place on building up cultural and humanitarian ties, in particular in the field of education and healthcare.
Issues of interaction between Uzbekistan and Germany through international organizations and financial institutions were discussed. The German side expressed its readiness to further expand cooperation in the "Uzbekistan-Germany-EU" format, including within the framework of the initiative of the German Foreign Ministry "Green Central Asia" and the EU Strategy for Central Asia.
The talks also considered certain aspects of the international and regional agenda.
