The Minister of Higher and Secondary Specialized Education raised the issue of uniforms in universities

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) - Minister of Higher and Secondary Specialized Education Abdukodir Toshkulov, at a meeting with youth at the Tashkent Youth Forum - 2021, raised the issue of uniforms in universities.

“During my tenure as rector, I began to abolish the uniform prohibitions. But this should happen within normal limits, i.e. there should be no such cases as a ban on admission to class due to the fact that "a tie is not put on." Most tertiary education institutions are financially independent, self-sustaining educational institutions. It is also worth considering that they have their own dress code.

Regarding the Ministry of Higher Education and my personal position, we will not tolerate form-related restrictions. When we talk about women’s clothing, we must first give suggestions and not act in terms of prohibitions. When it comes to how to dress in universities, not only girls who do not wear headscarves, but also those who do, should be given the opportunity to choose, Toshkulov said.
