The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkey visits the Handicraft Center in Margilan

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) – The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkey Mevlut Cavusoglu visited the Handicraft Center in Margilan, Ferghana region.

Mevlut Cavusoglu got acquainted with the process of making national fabrics, silk, carpets and other handicrafts here.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkey showed great interest in the process of making products of national handicrafts and highly appreciated the potential of Uzbekistan in this direction.

“The carpets in general, the products of the national handicraft, are wonderful. In Turkey, there are also such types of handicrafts, but they are becoming less and less. I am glad to see how national handicraft develops in Uzbekistan,” Chavusoglu noted.

The Turkish Foreign Minister also spoke about his childhood memories of seeing lace products.

The guest stressed the importance of passing from generation to generation the secrets of making national fabrics and handicrafts, and also stressed the importance of continuing to preserve these traditions.

In addition, a small cultural program was organized for a special guest at the Margilan Crafts Center.

Further, Mevlut Cavusoglu went to Altyaryk district to get acquainted with its agro-tourism potential.

It is worth noting that earlier the Minister of Tourism and Culture of Turkey also visited the Ferghana Valley and took part in the VI meeting of the Ministers for Tourism of the Turkic Council. Within the framework of this meeting, which was chaired by Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Tourism and Sports Aziz Abdukhakimov, the city of Kokand was officially declared the capital of the Turkic Council.
