Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- A meeting between the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Russia Sergei Lavrov and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan Bakhtiyor Saidov is "not far off". This was stated by the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova.

She noted that on 31 December, Sergei Lavrov sent a congratulatory message to his colleague in connection with his appointment to the post.

“I think that their meeting is not far off, there are a number of major interstate events ahead and the synchronization of clocks through the Russian and Uzbek Foreign Ministries will be very timely,” Zakharova said.
