The maximum amount of a bribe in Uzbekistan in 2021 was US$2 million

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The maximum amount of a bribe in Uzbekistan in 2021 was US$2 million, and the minimum amount was US$50. This was announced by the head of the information service of the Anti-Corruption Agency Durdona Ochilova.

According to her, the average amount of a bribe in 2021 was US$37,800. Durdona Ochilova noted that in 2021, 91 crimes related to bribery by officials were committed in Uzbekistan.

10 crimes were committed by officials of state organizations of the regional level, 81 - by officials of state organizations of the district and city levels.

In terms of positions, 49 worked as first-level managers, 8 - as deputy heads, 34 - as executive and technical employees. Among them, 77 men and 14 women.

Most crimes were committed in Tashkent - 18 and Tashkent region - 13, least of all in Navoi region and the Republic of Karakalpakstan - 2 each.

Almost a third of all crimes (26 out of 91) were committed by representatives of judicial and law enforcement agencies, the remaining 65 by employees of executive authorities.

Out of 91 crimes, 20 are related to employment, 8 - failure to take administrative measures, 6 - allocation of land, 4 - building permits, 3 - land lease, 3 - removal of a car from a car impound, 2 each - with the issuance of pensions, claiming a share for concluding an agreement on public procurement, crossing the border.
