Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) - Today, 7 July, at 05:48 am, a gas leak occurred in the gas pipeline No. 2, through which natural gas is supplied to the combined-cycle units of the Navoi thermal power plant (TPP).
In order to safely carry out repair work, the gas supply through the Navoi-4 gas distribution station is currently suspended.
Also, for repair work, the steam-gas unit No. 1 of the Navoi TPP will be temporarily shut down, in connection with which, in some regions of the country, short-term power outages are possible.
It should be noted that in the first half of July, a sharp increase in the temperature of the atmospheric air is observed on the territory of the country. In this regard, during the period of July 6-8, the daily consumption of electricity in the republic is expected to be at the level of 223 million kilowatt-hours, which is 23% higher than the same period last year.
At the same time, at present, the volume of water inflow into the reservoirs of the republic is 37% less than the same period last year, or about 48% relative to the average long-term water inflow.
This leads to a decrease in the production of electricity from hydroelectric power plants.
Despite these factors, all necessary measures are being taken to generate electricity at power plants in the planned volumes.
