The loan portfolio of banks in Uzbekistan reaches 471 trillion soums

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The loan portfolio of the banking system of Uzbekistan at the end of 2023 amounted to 471.4 trillion soums, which is 21% higher compared to the same period in 2022, according to data from the Central Bank of Uzbekistan.

Banks allocated 148.62 trillion soums for individuals in 2023, which is 47% more compared to 2022.

The volume of loans to legal entities in 2023 increased by 12% compared to 2022 and amounted to 322.78 trillion soums

The Central Bank notes that individuals received 58.11 trillion soums of mortgage loans (25% growth), 44.59 trillion soums – consumer loans (+92%) and 24.52 trillion soums of microcredits (+67%). Loans for education amount to 4.74 trillion soums (+131%) and loans for business development – 16.39 trillion soums (+13).

Loans allocated to legal entities that are not credit institutions increased by 13% - to 308.76 trillion soums, syndicated loans - by 17% to 5.54 trillion soums, leasing and factoring – by 30% to 2.03 trillion soums Microloans to legal entities decreased by 42% to 5.28 trillion soums

Loans amounting to 140.15 trillion soums were sent to industry (30% of the total loan portfolio), agriculture – 47.25 trillion soums (10%), transport and communications – 34.34 trillion soums (7%), trade and catering – 32.51 trillion soums (7%).
