The level of centralized drinking water supply of the population of Surkhandarya region to reach 84.1%

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The visits of the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev to the regions of the republic in order to get acquainted with the large-scale creative work carried out on the ground, the progress of deep reforms aimed primarily at improving the living standards of the population, as well as with the activities new and existing industrial enterprises have acquired a regular character.

In particular, during the visit of the head of our state to Surkhandarya region this year, it was instructed to develop and submit to the Cabinet of Ministers a draft resolution on the implementation of the project "Improving the drinking water supply of Surkhandarya region through the use of water from the Tupalang reservoir."

As part of the execution of this order, on 18 August 2021, a corresponding resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers was adopted, according to which, in 2021-2024, at the expense of US$138.1 million, the construction of a water treatment plant "Tupalang" with a capacity of 200,000 cubic meters per day, 361 km of main water pipeline with a diameter of 426-1420 mm.

In addition, together with khokimiyats, departments of housing and communal services, construction of the city of Termez and districts, Surkhondaryo Suv Ta’minoti LLC will develop proposals regarding sources of financing for the design and implementation of construction of new and reconstruction of existing water distribution units and distribution pipes in districts and makhallas. , the allocation of land plots for the construction of water pipelines and structures in accordance with the procedure established by law was ensured, and compensation related to their allocation was paid.

According to preliminary estimates, within the framework of the project, uninterrupted drinking water supply is planned for more than 1.7 million residents of 495 gatherings of citizens of makhallas of Sariasi, Denau, Altynsai, Shurchinsky, Kumkurgan, Bandikhan, Sherabad, Muzrabad, Kyzyryk, Jarkurgan, Termez, and Termez cities.

To do this, it is necessary to reconstruct 62 existing and 96 new water structures, 2.4 thousand km of existing and 4.5 thousand km of new internal networks.

As a result, the level of provision of the region’s population with centralized drinking water supply will increase from 59.6 to 84.1%.
