The law was approved, which serves to provide the judiciary with the most worthy personnel on the basis of openness and transparency

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- At the eighteenth plenary session of the Senate, the Law "On Amendments and Additions to the Law of the Republic of Uzbekistan" On the High Judicial Council of the Republic of Uzbekistan" was discussed.

In recent years, consistent work has been carried out in the country to further improve the judicial system, strengthen measures to reliably protect the rights and legitimate interests of citizens, effectively ensure justice and enhance the role of the judicial community, including genuine independence of judges.

As you know, the court is the highest point of justice. Thanks to this approach, the scope, scale and efficiency of work in this area have significantly expanded in recent years and reached a new level. In particular, important measures are being taken to liberalize the judiciary, combat corruption and ensure the independence of the judiciary.

It was noted that the Law discussed by the senators introduces the following changes and additions:

- establishment of coverage of the process of selection of candidates for vacant positions of judges through the world information network Internet (including the website);

- development and implementation of clear criteria that provide an open and transparent assessment of the effectiveness of judges through electronic ratings;

- appropriate changes in the powers of the Deputy Chairman of the High Judicial Council and other important rules.

The adoption of the Law will further improve the mechanisms for providing the judiciary with the most worthy personnel based on openness and transparency, increase the level of citizens' access to justice by ensuring the independence of judges, and will contribute to the further development of mechanisms for the early detection and prevention of corruption cases in the judicial system.

The law was approved by the senators.
