The law to help improve the effectiveness of combating corruption

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- At the plenary session, the Law "On amendments and additions to some legislative acts of the Republic of Uzbekistan in connection with the improvement of the anti-corruption system in the Republic of Uzbekistan" was discussed.

In accordance with the document, amendments and additions are made to 1 code and 9 laws, in particular to the laws "On the Prosecutor’s Office", "On the regulations of the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan," On the regulations of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan "," On the accession of the Republic of Uzbekistan to United Nations Convention against Corruption (New York, on 31 October 2003) "," On Detention in Criminal Proceedings "," On the Prevention of Offenses "," On Parliamentary Control "," On Combating Corruption "," On the procedure for serving administrative arrest ”, as well as the Criminal Executive Code.

As a result of the adoption of the Law, the necessary legal framework will be strengthened for the full implementation of the tasks defined by paragraph 25 of the State Program "Combating Corruption in 2019-2020", approved by decrees of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated June 29, 2020 No. 6013 and dated May 27, 2019 No. 5729.

In addition, the effective implementation of the tasks facing the Anti-Corruption Agency, as well as state bodies directly involved in anti-corruption activities, will be ensured.

In addition, the adoption of the Law will contribute to the further improvement of regulations governing anti-corruption activities, suppression of any manifestations of corruption in society and an increase in the effectiveness of countering it.

The law was approved by the senators.
