The Law "On the transplantation of human organs and human tissues" was approved

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) - Today, at the twenty-second plenary meeting of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis, the Law "On transplantation of human organs and tissues" was discussed.

It was noted that over the years, the lack of a legal framework for transplantation has led to the stagnation of transplantation as a clinical science and the loss of the ability to save the lives of many patients with related diseases.

This situation forces some patients to carry out these operations in foreign medical institutions, despite their high cost. They face various difficulties in medical treatment abroad, high financial costs and difficulties in communicating in foreign languages when traveling abroad.

As you know, unpaired human organs (heart, liver, pancreas and other organs) can only be removed from a corpse. For a transplant to be successful, the transplant, that is, the organ to be transplanted, must be removed from the corpse immediately after the death certificate is issued, before any circumstances prevent the transplant from functioning normally.

This Law was developed with the aim of eliminating these shortcomings, expanding the range of qualified medical care to our citizens and the possibility of returning seriously ill patients to a full life. During its development, the legislation of Germany, Poland, Russia, Belarus, Ukraine, Moldova and the USA concerning transplantation was studied.

The law determines the goals and conditions for the implementation of transplantation, the objects of transplantation, the circle of donors (living and dead), the rights of the donor and recipient, the conditions for obtaining organs and tissues from living and dead donors.

The adoption of the Law will improve the regulatory framework of the sphere, supplement the current legislative framework of state policy aimed at legal and socio-economic protection of the population. In addition, the Law serves to reduce the number of deaths from diseases and irreversible processes in organs.

The law was approved by the senators.
