The Law "On Postal Communication" was signed by the President

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The Law "On Postal Communication" was signed by the President of Uzbekistan. The law introduced into the legislation such concepts as a parcel, a postal courier. 

According to the Law, postal services are provided by postal operators and providers in the form of postal, courier and other types of postal services on a contractual basis.

Information about the address data of users, about postal and courier items and their content, other messages within the scope of activities of postal operators and providers, as well as the postal and courier items themselves constitute the secret of the postal service.

Postal operators and providers compensate for losses caused to users for non-fulfillment of obligations to provide postal services.

Claims in connection with non-delivery, untimely delivery or loss, damage (damage) of postal and courier items or non-payment of transferred funds shall be made within six months from the date of submission of the postal and courier item.

Users of postal services shall be liable in accordance with the established procedure for damage caused to other users of postal services, operators or providers of postal services, resulting from the insertion of items and substances prohibited for shipment into postal and courier shipments, or as a result of their improper packaging.

The law comes into force from the day of its official publication.
