Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- At a plenary session of the Senate, the Law "On Postal Communication" was considered.
This Law in the new edition is aimed at developing the activities of postal services in the service market and regulating relations in the field of postal communications.
The law expands the main directions of state policy in the field of postal communications, envisages the development of postal communications by the state in accordance with international norms and standards, the creation of favorable conditions for attracting investment in the industry, the development of public-private partnerships, and the promotion of the introduction of advanced innovative, information and communication technologies.
By this Law, the State Inspectorate for Control in the Sphere of Informatization and Telecommunications of the Republic of Uzbekistan is defined as the state body exercising state control over compliance with the legislation on postal communications.
The law determines that information about the address data of users, about postal and courier items, their content, as well as other messages included in the scope of activities of postal operators and providers constitutes the secret of the postal service and this is guaranteed by the state.
The law is also supplemented by a new rule on measures to ensure the security of postal communications. In particular, the security of postal communications is a set of measures defined by law aimed at protecting the secrecy of postal communications, ensuring the safety of postal and courier items, and means of postal communication.
The law was approved by the senators.
