Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Today, at the eighteenth plenary meeting of the Senate, the Law of the Republic of Uzbekistan "On Amendments and Additions to the Law of the Republic of Uzbekistan" On General Military Duty and Military Service "was discussed.

In particular, Article 21 of the Law of the Republic of Uzbekistan "On General Military Duty and Military Service" stipulates amendments in order to provide the possibility of being drafted into military service or serving in the mobilization draft reserve of conscripts-children of disabled, but having good family and material conditions of parents with their consent.

According to the decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated March 6, 2020 "On measures to further improve the procedure for conscription of citizens of the Republic of Uzbekistan", a system of creating appropriate commissions for the conscription of citizens to military service and alternative service, enrollment in the mobilization draft reserve has been introduced into practice.

This requires amending a number of articles of the Law on General Military Duty and Military Service, that is, Articles 18, 20, 21, 38 and 46.

In addition, the Temporary Regulation on the material liability of military personnel for damage caused to the state was revised, approved by the relevant decree of the Ministry of Defense, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Ministry of Emergency Situations and the National Security Service of May 12, 2006, the norms provided for in it are transferred to the Law of the Republic of Uzbekistan "On general conscription and military service."

The adoption of the Law will serve to further improve the country's legislation in the field of defense, improve and unify legislative acts relating to the passage of military service by citizens, as well as a uniform interpretation of concepts, terms and names used in this area.

The law will also ensure the safety of citizens, society and the state, as well as the protection of the rights and interests of citizens while participating in ensuring the country's defense.

The law was approved by the senators.
